About Pokeru

A simple idea.

I started Pokeru with a simple idea: to help collectors around the world enjoy Japanese TCG products and the quality that makes them special.

There's something I really appreciate about Japanese products—the attention to detail, the presentation, and the care that goes into making them. Trading cards are no exception. From the texture and finish of the cards to the consistency of their print quality, they often have a character that feels distinctly Japanese.

Pokeru is a small operation, and I like it that way. Staying small allows me to give more care and attention to the business, the products I offer, and the collectors who choose to shop with me.

The mark.

The logo is inspired by the ensō, a symbol found in Japanese Zen calligraphy. Traditionally painted in a single, fluid brushstroke, it is often associated with simplicity, presence, and the beauty of imperfection.

For me, it also represents something a little more personal. I went from being a 10-year-old boy dreaming of becoming a Pokémon Master to finding myself years later living in Japan, where it all began. Being able to share my love of Pokémon and Japan with collectors around the world feels, in its own way, like coming full circle.
